Yeah, because all the ebay tigers and gold sellers really did kill the game, didn't they?
Seriously, it's cosmetic bullshit, it doesn't mean a goddamn thing. It doesn't make it look like you spent 3 years playing GW, because you can farm the mats for FoW armor in about a month, the mats for tormented in about a week.
The importance you seem to place on your e-peen is sad. As if everyone having FoW armor or Tormented weps would make a damn bit of difference.
Besides, there is already a very quick way to get an almost endless amount of money in game that anyone can do. Ztrap across multiple accounts (buy trilogy cheap, or just borrow friends accounts), 2 at a time with 2 pugs. An hour (ish) a day will net about 8 zkeys.... that's 240 zkeys in 30 hours.

To me, anet is setting the bar for gw2 by how they interact with the game they intend to close. If they let the broken skills slide for GW1, then they are probably going to do so when they finish their "clean plate." I have no motivation to purchase a game if the devs could give a rat's ass about their product, I already made that mistake when buying warhammer online.

Buying items with real world money tells me that you don't care about playing the game, and you just want the goods. What do you do in PvE after you get the goods? Then start playing the game? I don't think so. Your only other option is to move onto PvP, or quit. Good waste of money there if you quit, and all those beautiful items and titles you purchased don't really make you play any better at PvP. Besides, PvP doesn't sound like it has a very rosy experience these days, and skill balances for it aren't likely to come out more often than three months apart, two months at the least.
I also have a good feeling that the timeframes that you've pulled from thin air are only reasonably achievable with players that have already spent time in GW and amassed money beforehand so that they can create characters capable of farming those materials in that amount of time.

My new account with a level 10 ranger farmed me 3000k during the Wintersday redux. Ranger + Necro = 70k+/hour. Wake up
On the side note....
... the quest is good cash for ANET (thousands of bots they can ban, people like me buy extra accounts for dual farm), so they wont delete it, even if the quest is broken.
And 600/SF hahahaha... it took them 3 years to realize it was a problem.

GoF is the most genius troll I've ever met. This guy wins.
Sell rare shit in the NCSoft shop because little raging insignificant irl e-peeners like Shayne will definately buy that shit so they can look cool. Sell some of the rare minipets there as well. There is no 'ultimate' weapon that can be bought and minipets are just cosmetic value as well.
This means more money for A-Net, and hopefully less paid vacations for them and more updates.
Btw: at Least GoF said it. 'They wont fix this shit so I'm exploiting it and I have like 9 million platinum. Yea, I cheated to get it, and nobodies gonna do shit about, you gonna? Nah your not.'
I'm about to take this stance as well. I'm tired of getting beat by shit cheaters and reporting them to 'no 3rd party activity was detected.'

Who is to to say this game is dead it maybe on life support but dead I wouldn't say so.Who is to say what will happen after GW2 is launched and everybody is settled playing? What about those who don't plan on moving over to GW2 and would just like to stick to their GW accounts.
Who is to say their won't be any new content after the release of GW2 for those that don't buy GW2?Don't say why would they do this if GW2 is out etc etc etc. This game could be very well on the backburner for now as some may not care for what is being talked about in GW2.
There will be a whole bunch of new costumers for GW2 as some just won't buy it.

If they were smart they'd make an announcement that GW is officially on the "minimally maintained game" list. Then offer every item including armor, weapons, runes, scrips etc. etc. on the web store. They'd make a mint! Look at how many dumb-asses bought those costumes. Seriously... whoever is over marketing should have done this a year ago.
